Counselling

Life can be difficult and confusing and people come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. Counselling can provide the support needed to find ways of making meaningful and positive changes in one’s life; it allows people to discuss their problems and any difficult feelings they encounter in a safe, confidential environment.

Maybe you've experienced difficulties with relationships, family, illness, low self-esteem, work, loss or trauma; maybe you have confusing feelings about who you are, your identity or just feeling not quite right. I can support you while we explore these issues and feelings together at your own pace.

I try to provide a warm and welcoming environment where you can feel comfortable and safe. I listen carefully and without judgement and will not direct the conversation. Whilst I do not offer advice or easy solutions, I will work with you to help you find your own answers. I also strive to be transparent and open about the therapeutic process.

It may be hard to see how simply talking can bring about change. However, when you allow yourself the time and space to be truly heard, you may find that coming to understand and value yourself, through in-depth conversation with another, can be profoundly liberating and you can find out what 'being you' truly means.

Counselling sessions are typically once a week for 50 minutes. I offer an initial 30-minutes consultation, which gives us the opportunity to explore and understand the presenting issues, to discuss how the counselling process works and to see if we would be able to work together in a therapeutic way.

Fees are £60 per 50-mins session. I offer a sliding scale for students and artists. (£30-£50) per 50-minute session.
